Beautiful traditional Ryokan with lovely onsen, food, facilities and helpful staff. The setting is very close to Naka Gora Cable car. Main centre of Gora is a ten minute walk downhill. The king room with is great, with an open air bath and the private onsen is also lovely. Also free hot drinks and sake in the lobby and a yukata for each guest to use around the hotel which is a lovely addition. Extra drinks and private onsen use were easily paid via iPad in the lobby in the morning. The Ryokan staff were accomodating and kindly kept our bags while we explored Hakone.

This is a great Ryokan, we had a massive room and the open air bath and shower on the deck is perfect. It also is very private for when you’re taking a bath and shower. The private onsen is awesome and very cheap, it was very clean and the amenities in the room were awesome. If you can, try the traditional dinner and breakfast or Half board as they call it, it is an awesome experience. The location is really good in Gora. It’s a 300 meter walk from the cable car station, which makes it very accessible down to Gora town and also to Gora station to take a day trip to Hakone yumoto and up to Mount Hakone and down into Lake Ashi. Be sure to get a Hakone free pass as this cover all your transport. The property is so peaceful and set in the mountains of Hakone. Great to relax and rest between the major cities.

This ryokan was a super experience to escape for a couple of days from the madness of the Japanese cities. The room was huge, and the open-air bathroom was really nice, like the onsen. The dinner and the breakfast were quite an experience...

* The food was very delicious. * 24-hour fee drink at lobby. * Onsen was of very good quality. * A hidden and quiet environment surrending by trees but accessible by public transport. * Free massage chairs.

The location was perfect. Just take the cable car from the Gora train station to the Naka Gora station and walk about a block to the entrance. Get the Hakone free pass and that will take you everywhere you want to go. We had breakfast and dinner included and that was an amazing authentic experience. We used both the public onsen and reserved a private onsen one night. We liked the coffee, tea and water with ice available 24hrs. It was cool to wear the yukata as well.

The hotel is so beautiful, like a Japanese palace deep within a tree grove. It combines a traditional stay with modern amenities, there's free sake upon your check in. Hakone will have you hiking for long, so the foot bath is also great. I highly recommend eating at the restaurant (specially for dinner). It is a bit expensive but totally worth it. The onsen that you can book in advance is fairly priced and also very comfortable. Oh, and the massage chairs, so good (free). Since it is so close to the railway, you can easily start your trip around hakone from here.

Wonderful ryokan. We stayed in one of the larger rooms on the third floor, with a balcony with a private outdoor bath. The scenery was excellent. The room itself was beautiful and spacious. The staff were attentive and the food delicious. All in all, a great experience. The free shuttle from Gora was a must, because while it is a short walk from Gora, the road is incredibly steep!

It is wonderful place, with possibility to rent private onsens. Nature around is great and there are several beautiful hikes that one can do. It is nice place to visit and rest from crowded cities.

Enjoyed our Ryokan style stay. The hotel has a shared bathing onsen/shower area, has massage chairs, outdoor foot soaks and not to mention the view from the room. The location is abit of a trek to get to but there are daily transfer service from the hotel to Gora station as well as when you depart the hotel with your luggage. The staff were friendly, however spoke very little English. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Very nice ryokan style hotel in the heart of Hakone. The staff are very welcoming. The food served for dinner and breakfast was amazing, although it might be too exotic for some people. But it's totally worth experiencing at least once! We enjoyed both public and private onsens which help to relax after long walks around Hakone. The hotel is located in a very quiet area.
