This is a great Ryokan, we had a massive room and the open air bath and shower on the deck is perfect. It also is very private for when you’re taking a bath and shower. The private onsen is awesome and very cheap, it was very clean and the amenities in the room were awesome. If you can, try the traditional dinner and breakfast or Half board as they call it, it is an awesome experience. The location is really good in Gora. It’s a 300 meter walk from the cable car station, which makes it very accessible down to Gora town and also to Gora station to take a day trip to Hakone yumoto and up to Mount Hakone and down into Lake Ashi. Be sure to get a Hakone free pass as this cover all your transport. The property is so peaceful and set in the mountains of Hakone. Great to relax and rest between the major cities.

Beautiful traditional Ryokan with lovely onsen, food, facilities and helpful staff. The setting is very close to Naka Gora Cable car. Main centre of Gora is a ten minute walk downhill. The king room with is great, with an open air bath and the private onsen is also lovely. Also free hot drinks and sake in the lobby and a yukata for each guest to use around the hotel which is a lovely addition. Extra drinks and private onsen use were easily paid via iPad in the lobby in the morning. The Ryokan staff were accomodating and kindly kept our bags while we explored Hakone.

The hotel is so beautiful, like a Japanese palace deep within a tree grove. It combines a traditional stay with modern amenities, there's free sake upon your check in. Hakone will have you hiking for long, so the foot bath is also great. I highly recommend eating at the restaurant (specially for dinner). It is a bit expensive but totally worth it. The onsen that you can book in advance is fairly priced and also very comfortable. Oh, and the massage chairs, so good (free). Since it is so close to the railway, you can easily start your trip around hakone from here.

The hotel is situated at a very convenient location - 2min walk from Naka Gora station and it offers shuttle services from Gora station. Google map doesn’t show the most convenient way of getting there so we were intimidated at first, but turned out if you buy the Hakone free pass and take the cable car, it’s only 2min walk from Naka Gora station. We enjoyed the onsen, the free yukatas, and the traditional dinner and breakfast. Very good service and free coffee and sake at the lobby!

Enjoyed our Ryokan style stay. The hotel has a shared bathing onsen/shower area, has massage chairs, outdoor foot soaks and not to mention the view from the room. The location is abit of a trek to get to but there are daily transfer service from the hotel to Gora station as well as when you depart the hotel with your luggage. The staff were friendly, however spoke very little English. We really enjoyed our stay here.
